Bhandarkars' Arts & Science College, Kundapura, sponsored by the Academy of General Education, Manipal, is a first grade college of Arts, Science and Commerce. The college was established in 1963 in order to meet the growing demand for the University education and to make it available nearer home so that the economically less fortunate sections of the society may academically equip themselves better to face challenges in the age of science, technology and international commerce. The college aims to instill a sense of discipline and purpose, the cultivation of proper attitudes and an awareness of various responsibilities which the youth would be called upon to shoulder in their lives. In addition, a stress on civic virtues and a sense of social values are among the things sought to be impressed upon those who seek admission here. The College was re-accredited 'A' by NAAC in the year 2023

To provide adequate infrastructure with student centric, research-oriented learning environment and ample scope for value-based, skill-oriented co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in tune with the technological development in teaching and learning.

College strives to provide value–based education to suit contemporary needs, making students socially responsible with strong ethical concerns.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College was established in 25-06-2005, immediately after the first NAAC Accreditation of the College. The IQAC was reconstituted in the subsequent years. Dr. M.V. Narayana Swamy served as the IQAC Co-ordinator through second NAAC Reaccreditation Cycle. Mr. Arunachala M. took over as Co-ordinator after second reaccreditation.Dr.M.B Nataraj took over as Co-ordinator for the third reaccreditation.Mr.Shashikanth Hathwar took over as Co-ordinator for the fourth reaccreditation. Presently Dr. Vijayakumar K M is serving as Co-ordinator of the IQAC,And Dr. Yashavanthi is serving as Co-co-ordinator of IQAC.
